This is one of
the most beautiful office buildings in Alaska. It
is 8 stories with an octagon shape. All the
office spaces have an outside view of Anchorage,
from overlooking the Cook Inlet to the Chugach
snow-covered mountains.
The building was designed for earthquake zone 5, the most severe earthquake requirements. It sits on the 1964 Good Friday earthquake fault line of Richter Scale of 8.4 and reinforced floor technology. It costs less than $100 per

square foot on this 88,000 sf building compared to $200 per square foot with conventional steel structure design. The building received several design excellence awards, including from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc.(ASHRAE) for energy conservation awards.
