Position Sought: MAYOR of the great city of Anchorage, Alaska.
Dominic S.F. Lee, P.E., educated both in China and the United States, Dominic Lee came to the United states in 1962 and to Alaska in 1977. An American citizen, he is the founder and CEO of Little Susitna Construction Company, Inc. He has earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems major), a M.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, all from the University of Missouri at Columbia, Missouri. He also did graduate study in arctic, civil, environmental and wave engineering at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Among the honors he has received include Who’s Who In America, Young Engineer of the Year, Alaska Businessman of the Year, Alumni of the Year, Congressional Distinguished Medal and President Ronald Regan gold medal.
Mr. Lee is an experienced project manager. He managed the construction inspection contract for 10 years with the U.S. Coast Guard for their nation-wide capital improvement construction projects totaling $1.5 billion in construction cost. He and his engineers received over 25 citations and commendations by the U.S. Coast Guard’s captains and admirals for projects well done. Mr. Lee is well qualified to manage this city as Mayor. Vote for him on election day.
Mr. Lee has worked in the engineering design of electrical, mechanical, and structural renovation of the 70-year-old Bonneville Hydroelectric Dam near Portland, Oregon in 1990 for the Portland District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was the engineer on record and received a citation from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a job well done. Mr. Lee is currently licenses as a professional Mechanical and Electrical Engineer in Alaska and ten other states, WA, OR, HI, CA, MO, TX, LA, MS, AL and GA. His company has been performing work in Alaska for over 30 years and has hired over 500 Alaskans to work in construction, architectural and engineering projects in Alaska and in the Lower 48 states, including Hawaii.
Mr Lee is married to his wife, Freddie Sue, for 41 years and has four children, all of whom graduated from Alaska high schools and went to private college and earned professional and graduate degrees.
Besides being a professional engineer and CEO of a construction and engineering company, Mr. Lee is also an economist and accountant. He taught these two subjects at the State University of Missouri for four years while attending graduate school. He knows engineering, economics, financial statements, and management of a corporation. Now it is time to elect him to clean up the mess in Anchorage caused by the present City Hall administration and rubber stamped by the current Assembly.
Mr. Lee can also bring big projects to Anchorage and Alaska, such as the $32 billion natural gas pipeline which was turned down by the State administration, and he is now brining a $2.8 billion “Turnagain Arm Tidal Bridge Power Project” to Anchorage, which will generated 1,200 megawatts of electricity for the Alaska Railbelt at 6 to 8 cents per kilowatt hour. This project will lower your house electricity bill by 50% to 75%. At the same time, the project causeway from Anchorage, to Fire Island, to North Kenai will shorten the drive time by 3 hours and save an average of 25 gallons of gasoline per round trip. It would also create 4,500 good paying jobs.
Mr. Lee has never held an elected office and has no political ties or debts. He is the author of two books (in Chinese and the English language). He is also the founder and CEO of a non-profit organization “Save Our World From Flooding.” Ex-Governor Hickel has called Mr. Lee a genius and said his plan “should be shared world-wide.” Mr. Lee will do what is right for Anchorage and his neighbors, including 1) lowering electricity bills, 2) lowering the property tax, 3) safeguarding Anchorage from the economic downturn and create new jobs, 4) pro-education (ASD & UAA), 5) pro-union (his company has been a signatory with the IBEW Local 1457 for 27 years), 6) help seniors with Medicaid to be able to see doctors, 7) Streamline City Hall-School District operations and funding, 8) provide law and order in our community.
